While the specific research direction is flexible, we expect from applicants that they have a significant overlap with our <a href=\"https:\/\/lovc.cs.uni-bonn.de\/\/index.php\/research\/\">research interests<\/a> (also see our <a href=\"https:\/\/lovc.cs.uni-bonn.de\/\/index.php\/publications\/\">publications<\/a>), that they are passionate about research, and that they share our ambition to <strong>push the boundaries in the field of interest.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Successful applicants for <strong>PhD student<\/strong> positions typically have a strong background and solid working knowledge in basic mathematics (linear algebra, analysis) and computer science (algorithms, data structures), and some experience in at least one of the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>visual computing (computer vision, computer graphics, geometry processing, shape analysis)<\/li>\n<li>mathematical optimisation (convex, non-convex, discrete, continuous)<\/li>\n<li>machine learning (geometric deep learning, representation learning, generative models, ML fundamentals)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Applicants for a <strong>Postdoc<\/strong> position are expected to have a proven track record of top-tier publications (e.g. CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, SIGGRAPH, etc.).<\/p>\n<p>We may offer either full-time working contracts or a scholarship covering living costs.
